Bones of the Earth, Maps of the Sky is one of my more recent worldbuilding projects, but it's really grown unexpectedly fast for something so new (my projects usually take an obscenely long time to germinate and take on flesh). It's basically set in a sort of benign underworld that's inhabited my dreams and mental images for a number of years in a sort of inchoate form (you could say it's sort of like what you might get as a default image of the underworld if you took away all of the 'hellish' connotations that are present in our culture). It's sort of mutated a bit from those earlier impressions, however, and, as it's still in its infancy, it will surely change further as it grows and gains a more definite shape. Currently, all the worldbuilding and ideas for it are, at least in theory, directed towards its future form as part of a book that i think of as being a sort of fantasy version of Kerouac's On The Road, albeit set in an odd, crepuscular dream-realm; however, it would be rather 'realistic' in tone at the same time, in a sense. We will see how far that goes; i still like the idea, but i might be biting off more than i can chew with it. For now, below are some samples of various worldbuilding concepts and other miscellaneous writings from the corpus of work and brainstorming i have done on it so far.
