The LAND OF SOPHISTICATED ANIMALS, or TLOSA, is a fiction and worldbuilding project (but, honestly, of the stuff on here, it's definitely the closest to traditional fiction rather than worldbuilding) i've been working on since i was about eight years old. It's gone through a seemingly inexhaustible sequence of incarnations over time, but in its current form, it's pretty similar to what it started off as. It's definitely the most lighthearted of my projects, too. It revolves around a sort of club (dedicated to eccentric science, invention, and exploration of various esoteric places and ideas) called Dhino Industries, set in a world of fantastical Henson/Seuss monster-people and talking animals (i also kind of think of it as a bit of an anarchist utopia/dream-model-society of sorts, maybe, in some ways). It's kind of also a 'map' of my own psyche and interests, you could say - the characters and events are very much a direct reflection of my own interests and general inclinations as a person (at least the positive ones). Nothing's set in stone yet, but one day i have a vague plan to publish it as a sort of serial collection of short stories - who knows, maybe even two (or more!) We shall see :)!
Until then (and probably even after), this page will remain as a directory of all the stories i have written so far that are finished. I hope you find some levity and happiness from their virtual pages (in spite of these ever more abominable times), and see some reflection of the joy that gave them birth in your own experience of their contents.
